How can I keep my child safe?

"Don't talk to strangers." As parents, you have said these words to your kids too many times to count. Nowadays, when it comes to letting your children venture out by themselves, you can never be too cautious, but there are a few things they can do to ward off an unwelcome advance.

First of all, avoid dangerous situations. General safety tips to teach your children include:

Don't go out or travel alone.

Don't park your bike or car in dark areas.

Don't meet anyone that you have only met on the Internet.

Stay away from people that you know get into trouble.

123Pi also recommends personal security devices. Some of these devices are more suitable for older children, while some can be used for any age.

Personal alarm systems

Defensive sprays

Another area of great concern in child safety is missing children. Each year, thousands of children are reported missing, lost or abducted. Undoubtedly, this is one of the biggest concerns a parent can have. You can contact your local police department to see if they offer a child identification kit or contact the North Carolina Department of Justice for a free ID kit.

If your child is missing, go to the Lost & Found Corner in the tab section above.
