You recently moved to a new area and your daughter has made new friends at her school. She has been coming home late every night and missing her curfew, which has rarely ever happened. She never tells you where she has been, just that she was out with her friends. You wonder how she manages to keep up with her schoolwork and her job. She won't talk to you; she comes home and goes straight to her room. You want to know whom she has been with and what she was doing. How can you find this out? |
Most of the time, this is not going to be a problem. Your child just wants to fit in at a new school. It is natural for parents to be concerned with their child' whereabouts and whom they are with, especially when they are in a new place. |
It is typical for teenagers to worry about who their friends are and whether or not they will be accepted as part of the "in-crowd." Many teens will mimic the behavior of their friends and then think that their parents won't care. |
Nevertheless, these new friends may be exposing your child to harmful situations and behaviors. Get to know the kids that your child is hanging out with, but don't pass judgment before you know the facts. For your own peace of mind, contact 123Pi and let us check them out for you. |
